Allyson Felix
Allyson Michael Felix was an Los Angeles native born on November 18th, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix was an athletically inclined child and found her passion to sprint at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Felix finished second in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championships within just 10 weeks, after her very first tryout. Felix finished her high school education and was signed to an agreement to Adidas. In 2004 she began her studies at the University of Southern California, which is where she studied elementary education. The first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics, in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by running 200m in 22.18 seconds. Felix was also the youngest participant in the 200 meters at the World Championships that took place in Helsinki in the year 2005. She defended her title time and time again in 2007 beating her the long-time Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo and has consistently ranked within the top three athletes in her respective events.
